The Streets of Cranhill
Most of the streets of Cranhill are named after lighthouses. This video links some of Cranhill's streets with location shots of the lighthouses from which their names originate. It was made by members of Cranhill's 'Out of the Box' Art Group. Sadly the group no longer operates.
On the Up and Up
This video was made for the 'Discover Festival Bus Tour of Glasgow East' in 2011 - part of Glasgow's Doors Open Day celebrations. It examines Cranhill's short history, from its beginnings in the early 1950s to the present day. Cranhill takes its name from the farm whose buildings lay where the water tower now is. Although about Cranhill, the same story can be told of many of of Glasgow's post-war housing schemes.
