Catherine Docherty (age 8) and her brother, Gordon, at the side of their house at Longstone Road - overlooking the over-grown Monkland Canal. The buidings of Craigend Farm can just about be made out in the top left of the picture. The story behind the picture is a sad one. Catherine died not long after this picture was taken. She fell off a midden, incurring a brain injury. She never regained consciousness
